@PeterWrangel Wanna know the best part? When this and a bunch of other deals got found out, Israel pretended they were the innocent middlemen for CIA deals

Jonathan Pollard passed between 800,000 to 1 million pages of classified documents to Israel, which then traded them to the Soviet Union in exchange for exit visas for Soviet Jews. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally met Pollard when he returned to Israel via a private plane provided by Sheldon Adelson.

Five Eyes was built for another era. We get diminishing value from four partners, and ties with Britain are at a low point. Time to rethink the alliance around those actually delivering intelligence value — Israel, Poland, Ukraine, UAE, Japan, ROK and other serious partners.

@PaleoAutist No they wouldn’t. It would be a stalemate. Israel has air power. You can’t advance under air power. But Ukraine has manpower and will right in much worse conditions with all sorts of nasty drones. Neither side wins (not including nukes or Moses shenanigans).

@UBERSOY1 This has been in the making, and also why Cuba will be attacked by the US soon. tl;dr: Narcos and commies in Latrine America are steadfast allies of Hamas and Hezbollah - and the Israeli are really trying to get rid of them this time.

こういうメンタリティの輩が国々を取り囲んでいたイスラエルの核兵器所持と北朝鮮や今のイランの核兵器所持は全然違う
Captain Allen@CptAllenHistory

For the "never happened" guy, here are the verbatim words of Arab League Secretary General, Azzam Pasha, from Egyptian Newspaper Akhbar al-Yom, tellingly titled “A War of Extermination," where he calls for genocide of Jews: “I personally wish that the Jews do not drive us to this war, as this will be a war of extermination and momentous massacre which will be spoken of like the Tartar massacre or the Crusader wars. I believe that the number of volunteers from outside Palestine will be larger than Palestine’s Arab population, for I know that volunteers will be arriving to us from [as far as] India, Afghanistan, and China to win the honor of martyrdom for the sake of Palestine … You might be surprised to learn that hundreds of Englishmen expressed their wish to volunteer in the Arab armies to fight the Jews. This war will be distinguished by three serious matters. First—faith: as each fighter deems his death on behalf of Palestine as the shortest road to paradise; second, [the war] will be an opportunity for vast plunder. Third, it will be impossible to contain the zealous volunteers arriving from all corners of the world to avenge the martyrdom of the Palestine Arabs, and viewing the war as dignifying every Arab and every Muslim throughout the world … The Arab is superior to the Jew in that he accepts defeat with a smile: Should the Jews defeat us in the first battle, we will defeat them in the second or the third battle … or the final one … whereas one defeat will shatter the Jew’s morale! Most desert Arabians take pleasure in fighting. I recall being tasked with mediating a truce in a desert war (in which I participated) that lasted for nine months …While en route to sign the truce, I was approached by some of my comrades in arms who told me: ‘Shame on you! You are a man of the people so how could you wish to end the war … How can we live without war? This is because war gives the Bedouin a sense of happiness, bliss, and security that peace does not provide!” Source in first comment

@Denis_Piwi @compliantvc If surrender jokes are all you have to deal with after not attacking Germany while they were fighting Poland, collapsing bcos you didn’t want to fight - which led to WW2 being as large as it was - then collaborating with the Nazis to round up French Jews; a few jokes is nothing.

Yesterday’s news about Israel ending all defense procurement from France signals worsening relations with parts of Europe, which if left unchecked could end in cooperation also disappearing in other areas. One dangerous scenario is the one in which Israel ceases providing its European allies with intelligence on Islamist terror cells active in the West, causing the European continent’s security landscape to deteriorate sharply. Israel’s Mossad and military intelligence routinely share high-value, actionable data. The scope of it is much larger than is publicly acknowledged. European security services have received this type of information through decades of bilateral ties and longstanding mechanisms such as the post-1970s Kilowatt network and ongoing bilateral ties. Recent examples include the 2025 Mossad-led disruption of extensive Hamas terror infrastructures in Germany and Austria, where European raids seized weapons caches and arrested operatives preparing attacks. Similar cooperation has repeatedly foiled Iranian- and Hezbollah-linked plots across the EU. Israel’s penetration of these networks is unmatched. Through superior HUMINT, cyber infiltration, and supply-chain subversion (as seen in the 2024 Hezbollah pager operation and targeted assassinations), the Mossad maintains deep access to Hamas external operations, Hezbollah’s European cells and Iranian proxy structures. Western agencies, constrained by cultural, linguistic, and legal barriers, rely heavily on this Israeli input to map sleeper cells, financing routes, and radicalization pipelines. These threats are increasingly embedded within migrant communities from Shia and Sunni regions. Without this stream of intelligence, many plots currently thwarted would succeed. Terror attacks would surge, as evidenced by the dozens of foiled incidents Israel has credited with preventing in Europe alone over recent years. In the context of Iran-backed efforts to foment an Islamic revolution by leveraging demographic growth, parallel societies and sectarian voting blocs. European security services would face overload, forcing reactive rather than preventive postures. The asymmetry is stark in the current information exchange agreement, with Europe gaining critical early warning while Israel has been hoping for good will in exchange. Israel’s withdrawal from the current information-sharing framework would expose a vulnerability its European allies have long taken for granted.
