Since we're getting into fiber festival season, I want to share something I learned the hard way. If you vend for someone, you should NEVER lose money. I'm sharing this, in hopes of helping someone I helped someone vend at wool and folk, and it was one of the worst experiences.

@ktb38 MCN/MCS blends are overhyped, and most merino "sock" yarns are inferior to hardier wool sock yarns.

@ktb38 Having done several tests, you Very Quickly figure out who does this this right way. Hats-off to @Victoria_Knits for having a well-run test knit, though - she clearly cared about her testers and had a tech-edited pattern and good test environment!

Using test knitters before a tech editor, so they find all the errors, is pretty shitty behavior.

@ktb38 If folks are catching 10+ errors, yeah.... For your situation, if it impacts the form or look of the project, I'd probably restart. It's frustrating as all get-out, though.

@ktb38 I've done a couple of test knits where I ran into a ton of errors; one I stopped because I saw how the item turndd out by someone else and REFUSED to waste yarn on it, and the other I pressed through but definitely doubt they do "tech editing" like they claimed.

How many errors in a test knit do you consider too many and you reconsider making it?

@mrs_twill I don't see anyone calling that specific post a threat. More accurately, it is part of an ongoing backlash against someone trying to query information from a community. And why is mockery an acceptable reaction to someone who states they're distressed?
