Hamas spokesperson Abu Obeida lauded Hezbollah for inflicting casualities on the Israeli military soldiers in a recent clash that resulted in the deaths of four troops. He called for Hezbollah to continue its efforts to capture an IDF soldier, saying it would result in securing the release of prisoners in Israeli jails. Obeida pressed that "resistance" was the most effective way to liberate prisoners in Israel. --- While it may be boring for Hamas to watch a war on the sidelines, Obeida has taken the opportunity to speak twice this month in an effort to remain relevant while the conflict in Iran and the region casts a shadow over the group in Gaza.

@bentreyf @972mag Hi Ben, I know someone in Gaza who is desperately trying to be "ethnically cleansed" with the help of Al Majd or otherwise but she hasn't had any success contacting them. It's very unclear which, if any, websites or Facebook pages purporting to represent this group are legitimate

On Sept. 9, 1969, ~20 Palestinians from Gaza boarded a plane from Israel, believing they were bound for Brazil. They’d signed up through an Israeli travel agency for a work-abroad program promising higher wages than they could find in Gaza. But that’s not what awaited them. 🧵

new rule: if you call someone an antisemite, you should be prepared to immediately back it up with a quote from them where they said something bigoted against Jewish people. If you can't provide such a quote, you have to apologize and shut up.

Naveed Akram is clearly mentally ill and his unfortunate actions must have driven by what were undoubtedly terrifying delusions. I'm sure the Australian justice system will do its best to make sure he serves at least forty, maybe fifty hours of community service #justicefornaveed

Police in New South Wales took their sweet time identifying any motive in today's attack on the Hannukah celebration at Bondi Beach. Presumably Naveed Akram and his as-yet-unnamed accomplice were upset about such a large gathering of settler colonialists on native aboriginal land
