I'M 74 AND ADOPTED A GERMAN SHEPHERD WHOSE OWNERS WANTED TO EUTHANIZE. When my son called me about Hunter, my heart broke. A young couple had brought this gorgeous 3-year-old German Shepherd to the shelter, asking to have him euthanized because they were moving and couldn't "handle a big dog anymore." A dog they'd raised since he was a puppy — just tossed aside like he didn't matter. The shelter refused, of course, and kept him, but when I heard the story, I couldn't stop thinking about him. I told my son I wanted to adopt Hunter, but he hesitated. "Mom, he's a big dog — what if it's too much for you?" he said. But I've had big dogs before, and I know how to handle them. Besides, when I met Hunter, I saw right away that he's a gentle, obedient soul. I brought him home that day. Now, Hunter follows me everywhere, curls up by my feet, and watches over me like he knows I saved him. It's hard to imagine anyone seeing him as a burden. He's my family now, and I'll never let him go.

We lost our baby boy Soloman this morning. He fought his disease for two years like the good boy he was. Like me he was a collector. Bones, toys, snacks he kept a stash. I’ll always cherish the memories I collected with him.

Devastated. At 645am this morning all normal just about to go for her walk Dylis collapsed and started fitting. She came round briefly and kissed me then it started again but didn’t stop. Vets gave sedation to stop the fits she didn’t respond and at 8am she died peacefully x

@domdyer70 Danke einer weniger. Aber warum jetzt posten war doch schon 2017😂. Elefanten sind sehr intelligente Tiere und verstehen was sterben heißt. Mit Sicherheit erkennen sie auch diese schrecklichen Menschen mit ihren Gewehren.

In May 2017, Theunis Botha was crushed to death by an elephant that a member of his hunting group had shot.  The 51-year-old South African was leading a group in Gwai, Zimbabwe, when they came across a herd of elephants in Hwange National Park. Three of the elephants made a move towards them, prompting Botha to fire his gun.  A fourth elephant then came in from the side and whisked him into the air with her trunk.   That was when another member of the group shot the animal. As it collapsed to the ground, it fell on top of Botha, crushing him to death.  According to reports, Botha was a frequent traveller to the United States, where he would often go to convince wealthy clients to participate in trophy hunting.
