Saw someone coding today. Same prompt. ChatGPT. Claude. Gemini. DeepSeek. Grok. Waited for all the answers. Dropped each one into a separate file. Ran them all. Kept the best output. It was me.

Don’t focus on learning. Focus on application. Because if you don’t apply what you learn, you’ll forget 75% in after 6 days. Tldr: Learning without application is an absolute waste! Ref: Harvard Business Review

If something works, it means it has been tried and tested by those before you. Why do you need to reinvent the wheel?

As a Muslim, it’s upon you to focus on your deen as well as your career. Neither one should be slacking. If one of them is slacking, then rectify it and take the means to be good at it.

Spend the first 3 years of your career ensuring these to accelerate your growth ⚡️: - become proficient in at least one stack - understand infrastructure and architecture - understand how your work fits into the big scheme - show extreme ownership and lead - help others succeed #softwareengineering #career #growth

The sense of fulfilment you get from helping people without expecting anything back is unmatched 😌 🕌 In Islam, this is a key spiritual principle, reflected in many verses of the Quran, with the emphasis on selfless giving for the pleasure of Allah (God) alone, and not for the admiration or gratitude of others. 🌍 It reminds us that our lives are deeply interconnected. When we help others, we are not just aiding them but also enriching our own human experience. In the process, we are building a stronger, more compassionate community and world. It's this realisation that brings about a sense of fulfilment unmatched by any material gain. 💫 After all, in giving we receive - not necessarily in material or worldly terms, but in a deep, soulful sense of connection, purpose, and inner peace. And that is indeed a precious reward. #community #support #islam

Here is a 5-step process I follow to learn new technologies, tools and frameworks ⚡ 1. I implement "Hello world" equivalent of, literally, every new thing I am learning, be it frameworks, libraries, or databases. 2. With enough experience, you can build an inherent understanding that does not require implementation; and this is where you can form dots just by skimming. Note: reaching this stage requires continuous learning studying and practicing. 3. I would refer to reference books. But if it is hard to understand something, I refer to blogs and videos that guide me in quickly forming the dots. There are the 3 phases of understanding - Beginner: Blogs and Tutorial Videos - Intermediate: Blogs and Conference - Advanced: Papers, Conference, Books 4. I would build a project or work on something that is hands-on, something related to the topic of course. 5. To form a deeper understanding, I would teach it to others. Putting myself in someone else's shoes helps me question my understanding and ensure I grasp the concept well. Everyone has their own method of learning. The above has worked very well for me in the past. Try what works and leave what doesn’t. What other methods would you add? #softwareengineering #learning

Progress is often invisible. You struggle, you struggle. Then, one day, all of a sudden everything seems obvious and you move to the next level. You repeat the process, you gain self-confidence and every step forward fuels your growth, honing your resilience.
