Dignifiedly silent nerd who does the odd bit of running. Looking for a new direction to wander in.

I think personality is huge at a club like Sunderland. Johnson perhaps just didn’t fit despite talking well at times. Parky was dull and Jack Ross was fairy measured. I’ve always felt Sunderland needed a rocket to get it going. Someone to drag it kicking and screaming. #SAFC

Exactly. This was my point but made in a much clearer way by this person.

@mobilemackem @mickylough95 For me the deeper issue, is what have they done at looking at why they go on these streaks, and furthermore what was done to mitigate them. Getting beat is one thing, getting beat a few times in a row is another but getting pumped repeatedly is unacceptable.

@mickylough95 What I am not saying is ‘we knew this would happen and it’s fine’.

@mickylough95 What I am saying (probably not very well) is that the club knew when they appointed him that he had a tendency to go on winning and losing streaks. So they should have had a plan to deal with that situation when it happened. Or better still, prevent it from occurring.

Streaks weren’t part of the deal though, when you appoint a manager with experience in and around the play off places in the league above you expect him to have more about him than an average L1 coach and put the whole concept of streaks to bed.
Mobile Mackem@mobilemackem

Streaks were part of the deal when the club hired LJ and they were fully aware of them. But I’m not sure the streaks are compatible with finishing in the top two. Which - everyone agrees - is the only acceptable outcome. Starting over, yet again, isn’t the solution though.

@NigelTA1 Agreed completely. This is nothing to do with luck. The club should have had a plan to deal with this when it happened or, better still, prevent it from occurring in the first place. Maybe they have one, but it clearly isn’t working.

@mobilemackem I don't believe in streaks, there's always a reason why you win and lose. Tactics, confidence, mindset, player strengths & weaknesses, recruitment. For me our mindset & confidence has been weak for a long time and that should come in a large part from the manager.

@boxing_buddy It’s not a binary choice. The problem has to be fixed rather than the symptom.

@76skelly Changing the manager/head coach would be window dressing. The fundamental problems need to be fixed and that might take time.

@mobilemackem At what point is a streak (considering this isn’t his 1st season) thought to be too much before they look at someone who can come in & make an impact. The same way Keane did, someone who grabs the club by the scruff of the neck & drags it kicking & screaming?

I’m sure the club’s new data-evidenced-strategy team have this situation well in hand.

@KarenHowes5 @SkyNews Visiting my Mam in her care home every week requires a lengthy process for the one hour visit (which is by appointment only). Then, while we are in the room with her, we're in masks, gloves, and an apron. Everyone involved in the process is fully jabbed up so let's end this!

@SkyNews Does that mean care homes will be back to loved ones being able to be visited freely without restrictions instead of loved ones being treat worse than prisoners and families virtually needing visiting orders when the rest of society return to normal! YES, I AM ANGRY!

@TraceyS1907 I did my first at 18. I'll be 50 next year and I'd still go back to that same festival every year if the tickets weren't so hard to get hold of now. In its absence, the little festivals at Herrington Park are great fun and I'm sure I'll be there too... being all grey and wrinkly.
