The award was presented during the 𝘐𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘧𝘰𝘳 𝘋𝘦𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘣𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘚𝘶𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘪𝘭𝘪𝘵𝘺 (𝘔𝘋𝘊𝘚) and the 2𝘯𝘥 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘧𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘯 𝘈𝘱𝘱𝘭𝘪𝘦𝘥 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘛𝘦𝘤𝘩𝘯𝘰𝘭𝘰𝘨𝘺 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘛𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘙𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 (𝘈𝘔𝘛𝘛𝘙-2), jointly organized by the Indian Membrane Society and the Gogri Hub for Membrane Research at the Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, held from 12 to 14 February 2026. The award citation recognizes Dr. Modi’s “𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘤𝘩 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘳𝘪𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘥𝘦𝘥𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘐𝘯𝘥𝘪𝘢𝘯 𝘔𝘦𝘮𝘣𝘳𝘢𝘯𝘦 𝘚𝘰𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘵𝘺,” highlighting his exceptional promise in advancing membrane science and technology. Established in 1986, the Indian Membrane Society is a distinguished professional body of scientists, academicians, technologists, consultants, and engineers dedicated to advancing membrane science, technology, and applications. Under the visionary leadership of Prof. Gobardhan Das, Director, IISER Bhopal, we are proud to take a bold step toward advancing central India’s scientific and technological future with the launch of the Research Centre for Sustainable Technologies and Energy Research — a world-class facility dedicated to solving some of the most pressing global challenges. We express our sincere gratitude to the Government of Madhya Pradesh for generously allotting 52 acres of land adjacent to the IISER Bhopal campus. This significant support lays a strong foundation for building a transformative hub for cutting-edge research, innovation, and industry-academia collaboration for a sustainable future. The Centre will focus on high-impact areas including Artificial Intelligence, Quantum Technologies, Semiconductors, Biomedical Devices, Climate Science, and Sustainable Energy.
