A few days back I posted this and then it got me thinking why it's not still there so here is what I found: Why can’t we just delete an email after sending it Because once you hit send it is not yours anymore Your mail is copied from your device to your mail serverThen to other servers on the internetThen finally stored on the receiver’s server Now there are multiple copies of it You cannot delete something that is sitting on someone else’s system There is no single control over emailNo central delete button That is why unsend is not realIt only works before the mail actually leaves your side After that it is already delivered or stored somewhere else Email is not sendingIt is distributing And once distributed you cannot take it back
