No ma’am under South African law, customary marriages are legally recognised and by default in community of property unless a valid antenuptial contract excluding it was signed before the marriage (Recognition of Customary Marriages Act 120 of 1998). A recent Constitutional Court ruling confirmed that you cannot change this after the marriage without a court-approved process under the Matrimonial Property Act.
