Inspirational! A team of 16 players are coming to the GAA World Games in July from Zambia - all are from the compound of Makululu, the second largest compound in Africa (after Soweto).

"We are training hard... we are very excited, maybe scared, also we want to see the oceans and the mountains!" Sables Shamrocks GAA Club, from Kabwe in Zambia, was formed in January, 2026 and are sending a 16-strong squad to the GAA World Games on July 13-17th in Waterford!

Similar-sized county to Cavan, have out-performed us in every grade of football (senior, u20, minor, club) in the last 10 years. Same goes for Monaghan. Val Andrews' comment in 2011, "Cavan people are happy in a quagmire of shit", was accurate.

A lot of eyebrows raised at the official attendance of 7,980 in Clones on Sunday. Was it an error? I took these photos five mins before throw-in - TV showed lots of empty seats in the stand too.

Monaghan's biggest win over Cavan in championship since the 1930 Ulster final (also a seven-point win, although new rules today obviously). Bad week for Cavan in the Drumlin Clasico in general, championship losses to Monaghan U20s and senior hurlers in last five days.
