Thanks to @brooksrunning and @brooksrunningJP I could get a couple pairs of shoes my size (30), which they don’t sell in Japan. Since there is a Brooks pop up this week in Tokyo, one of the coordinators from the US brought over the shoes I wanted and left them at the pop-up. 🙏

@hikosaemon Any baking recipe I look up in English, I cut the sugar by half and it’s still usually on the sweet side. Japanese recipes don’t usually need the adjustment.

🔰ランニング初心者の方へ🔰 初心者の人がいきなり毎日頑張って走ると怪我します。自分もランニング初心者の頃は頑張り過ぎて、膝や足首を痛めてしまった事がありました。 トレーニングの目安としては… 🏃‍♂️全く体力が無い人→ウォーキングから 🏃‍♂️体力がある人→週2〜3回のジョグから 走るペースは会話が出来るくらいのニコニコペースでOKです。息切れしてキツイと感じるような練習はペースが早過ぎます。ゆるいジョグでも心肺機能や体力向上にちゃんと効果があります。最初は週2~3回の練習頻度で十分です。(週1だと少ないので最低でも週2回は走りましょう) 初心者の人に気を付けて欲しいのは、毎日走ったり、追い込むほど頑張るトレーニングをいきなりやらないことです。ランは積み重ねが大事です。頑張り過ぎない&怪我しない事が何よりも大切なのです。重要なのは負荷と回復のバランスを保つこと。 特に初心者のうちは走るための筋肉が出来上がっていません。毎日走ることは一見良いことに見えますが、目では見えない疲れや体調不良の原因になります!その状態で走っても疲れが残るばかりでトレーニング効果も下がりますし、怪我の原因にもなります。SNSでは毎日走っている人を見ますが、そういう方々は長年トレーニングを積んできた人達です。それが当たり前と思わないようにしましょう。 最初のうちは週2〜3回(30分程度のゆるいジョギング)を目安に走るのがオススメです。適度なトレーニングと休養により筋肉の回復が促されてより疲れにくい、しなやかな筋肉になります。 週2〜3回のランが継続できるようになり、もう少し走れそうだなと感じてきたら週1回のロング走を入れましょう。ハーフマラソン完走を目指している方であれば最初は10km程度から。もう少し走れるぞという方は15〜20kmくらいを目安にロング走を入れてみてください。

A modest suggestion for Tokyo govt - Tokyo’s rivers, especially with improved water quality in recent decades are a massive under-tapped resource for resident lifestyle and tourists. I’d love Tokyo to do more to extend and connect river walkways to avoid navigating dead ends

今のワイの体力だと、無雪期のテント泊装備で安全に(体力的に余裕をもって)1日に歩ける距離は20kmかつ累積標高2500m前後くらいまでかなぁ。累積標高2000mなら25kmくらいまでなら行ける。 自分の体力的な限界を把握しておくのは大切。「いけるかもしれない」で登山を計画するのはリスク高くなるよね。
