I’M HERE TO AND MAKE IT WORK. I love my country. I do enjoy ordinary South Africans of all races. I see them in the crowd at Loftus. These are the people I want to be with. Not some Texan who’s too preoccupied with making a living to notice I even exist. Not to mention the stigma all non citizens feel in any foreign country. Intrinsically as a nation we have more in common than not. We want the same things. Unfortunately the negative vitriol that we put out there, polarises reasonable people. We pick sides and the void grows. White people spend so much energy criticising Ramaphosa and ANC by being derogatory without giving a second thought to all the black and other population groups who feel the same way. It’s divisive. We feel compelled to pick sides, we become enemies with the people who look different, when we should be embracing on common cause of building for the future. The destruction under the ANC is not lost on black people as many presume Outside of the circle of the connected few, black peoples aspirations have not been met. Whites, outside of the few able grow their wealth, are so much more worse off under the ANC. Many frankly too embarrassed to admit it. It’s time to stop the negative. Seek out those who are like minded in being willing to work for a better society. Take a moment to appreciate what Rassie did with the Springboks. We need to be adults who dig deep against the odds and unite to find solutions. It’s within our grasp. It’s a choice we make and is how we unseat Ramaphosa and his circle of dysfunctional parasites.
