@chirno_helmet Full Metal Jacket is a total classic but I do have to ask....do the comedic elements of the first half of the movie translate well? The drill sergeant is brutal but his insults are very funny, did that work in japanese?

i think the main problem with the flamethrower in video games is that in PVE due to the lack of AI capability for the ennemies in game, the weapons simply cannot serve it's true purpose: to scare the ennemy out of it's cover so riflemen and gunner can shoot them since ally AI also tend to not be super reliable, as for the purpose of deforestation, asside from far cry 2 very few games made the effort of fully embracing this mechanic. as for PVP, the player's life isn't at stake so the psychological effect of the flame thrower will be mostly nulified wile the only part of the IRL flamethrower that will stay is the fact the one using it will become a big target for the whole lobby
