@FootbalGalaxy He has been dealing with the aftermath of that injury since 2014 and until now and will be dealing with it for the rest of his days, it will never heal because it's a degenerative condition meaning that it worsens as he ages.

I watched Ronaldo way before than that, but I saw Bale saying he transitioned himself more like into a goal scorer but he didn’t mention the injury was the reason. That is why I asked, But Ronaldo succeeded more later whith this playstyle, but the best version of Ronaldo for me was 2008-2013.

People don’t realise this, but Ronaldo had to move from the LW position into the box to score and compete with Messi more, but only with goals. Ronaldo knew he couldn’t play like Messi, or even as a proper winger or playmaker whilst Messi was doing everything on the pitch, goals, assists, dribblings, playmaking, passes you name it. That is why most of Ronaldo’s goals are tap ins, a header or a penalty. All in the box area. Yet the min per goal ratio between him and Messi was so close. And people still compare this guy to Messi!

Somehow this post relates more to Ronaldo than you'll think... If Ronaldo didn't leave Real Madrid, Modric or Benzema wouldn't have won the Ballon D'Or... Messi makes his team better, if you don't agree, go argue with a wall. Lastly, has any Ronaldo teammate made top 3 Ballon D'Or while Ronaldo is playing with them? No Ronaldo needs his teammates to shine, he doesn't make anyone but himself better, most especially on the pitch. I'll finish with this, to defend Ronaldo's legacy against other footballers, it's simple, he's beyond their level. But when Lionel Messi is mentioned, you just know he's way behind on the pecking order

Neymar was the better player in 2015 and the Ballon d'or was given to Messi, Ronaldo and modric won the next 3 Ballon d'or's. So when exactly was Neymar going to win the Ballon d'or when he was finished in 2019. If Neymar stayed back in Barcelona all he would have done is help Messi win more trophies.
