If the national players won't captain in the WPL, where would they? In every league this happens as it should be. WPL is for Indian players to grow. From leading Mumbai to domestic T20 title to 3 years of vice captaincy under Lanning, Jemi has enough experience to lead DC.

Raises an obvious question: - Is this captaincy a reward for her semifinal century rather than leadership credentials? This one feels emotional, not strategic.
