NORMAL with @mrbobodenkirk is damn funny . Lots of fun. 90 mins was a breeze and a welcome distraction.

@thevirdas Just YouTube . Mostly YouTube Even when we control and try to push them to watch something good on Netflix or other platforms they just want to watch mindless crap on YouTube At times only shorts . That’s how short their attention span and patience is . Sad

Genuine question. I've always felt there is a massive gap on Indian OTT for kids content. Yet every single kid I see is staring at a tablet, mostly youtube. Parents: What are you watching on OTT? Which platform? Anything you and your kids can watch together?

What are some sequels to great films that, in your mind, just don't exist? You'd like to pretend they never happened and just move on...

THE DRAMA is really good. Love where the film goes towards the final 30 mins. The build up is very good . So chaotic , sharply funny and so grey. Loved it

The woman who inspired Before Sunrise never saw the movie. She died in a motorcycle accident seven weeks before filming even started. Richard Linklater met Amy Lehrhaupt in a toy shop in Philadelphia in 1989. They spent the whole night walking the city from midnight to 6am talking about everything, and he turned that one night into a script. Took him 11 days. The casting search lasted nine months. Jennifer Aniston auditioned before she ever got Friends, and Gwyneth Paltrow tried out too. The role went to Julie Delpy. Amy died on May 9, 1994. She was 24. Linklater kept waiting for her to show up at a screening, maybe tap him on the shoulder and say “Hey, that was our night.” He waited through the premiere. Waited through the sequel nine years later. Didn’t find out she was gone until 2010, when a friend of hers put the pieces together and wrote him a letter. He kept making the films. Brought Hawke and Delpy back every nine years, letting them age on screen in real time. Before Sunset (2004) was shot in 15 days for $2 million. Before Midnight (2013), same thing, 15 days, under $3 million. That last one is dedicated to Amy. All three films together cost $7.5 million to make and earned $61.5 million worldwide, and both sequels got nominated for the Oscar for Best Adapted Screenplay. The entire trilogy cost less than a single Janet Jackson music video that Kahn himself directed. The Library of Congress added Before Sunrise to the National Film Registry earlier this year. It’s now one of 925 films the government considers worth keeping forever. Linklater turned a single night with a woman he’d never see again into an 18-year trilogy. He just didn’t know the “never” part when he started.

A retired U.S. Army general is calling the Iran war the greatest geopolitical disaster in American history. Brigadier General Steve Anderson told MSNBC that the Trump administration has “completely mismanaged this war” and warned that any ground operation would be “an absolute disaster.” He said the IRGC are 200,000 committed fighters in what they see as a holy war. Americans will die, he said. It is not a question of if. It is a question of how many. The warning landed alongside a sweeping leadership purge at the Pentagon. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth forced out Army Chief of Staff General Randy George, ordering him to retire immediately, while also removing the head of Army Transformation and Training Command and the Army’s chief of chaplains.  It is the latest in a string of more than a dozen firings of top generals and admirals by Hegseth since taking office, with no reason given for any of them.  One congressional observer put it plainly: experienced generals are telling Hegseth his Iran war plans are unworkable, disastrous, and deadly.  The response from Hegseth was to fire them. @mojorant @RealEmirHan I never said it wasn’t important for the plot of Game of Thrones. I’m saying the way it was done leaned more on shock than storytelling.

@RealEmirHan In Game of Thrones, that awkward scene between Jaime and Cersei in season 1 at the very start felt totally unnecessary for the story shock value over substance…

One Battle After Another is currently 4th on my PTA: Ranked list behind There Will Be Blood, Boogie Nights & Magnolia. But starting to wonder if it’s time to move PTA’s only Oscar winner up to at least #2. Curious where you guys have OBAA ranked relative to Boogie Nights.
