lousy instrument was holding me back. Later, in my relatively short “Charlie Hunter phase”, I cut all the frets to 2/3rds and put bass guitar strings in there for the bottom two. This effectively gave me two strings of fretless bass to do my walking-bass-plus-comping-thing.

I’m in a movie! A friend told me I was in this and I watched it on my last flight home from LA and it’s true. I’m on screen for like 5 seconds and I don’t speak or anything, but I mean, I’m in a movie! And it’s damn good! Especially if you like documentaries or music tech.
