A lot of things I relate to in this thread - namely, how crazy it is to make these huge financial decisions at 17-18 when your perspective is so informed by your community and what the adults in your life think/feel is important.

no one tells you that half of every job is just emailing “what time works for you” in various ways

intellectually knowing that something is coming does not prepare you for the devastation in the body when it hits

will forever put on aha shake heartbreak and think of summertime suburban driving with a newly minted license

buying replacement headlights at the auto parts store and turned down a warranty because as i told the cashier, i’m not really a “warranty person.” his response: “except for life though, right?” 🧐
