@monkeyjuice7 @nhlpens I don't think the defender created the contact. The attacking player stops right in front of the defender as he's reaching for and playing the puck. This is incidental contact between 2 players playing a loose puck.

@BradInvestment @nhlpens The point I was trying to make was it doesn’t matter if it’s incidental or not. The defender created contact that made the attacker hit the goalie. Both cases should have been called the same way, either interference or not.

When you say people get trapped in seatbelts, you’re essentially saying because you can still get hurt, that’s why you don’t wear one… but you’re way more likely to get hurt wearing one…
