@monkgoat2 @BravesSufferer @tknowsball_ mets have spent 400 million and are 12-22, everyone should be talking about it and laughing at soto for leaving a 22-12 team over like 10 million
English

He had it so good, why tf did he choose the Mets😭😭😭😭😭
JL@JLas43_
Recency bias but Juan Soto sending the Yankees back to the World Series for the first time since 2009 was a magical feeling
English

@BravesSufferer @tknowsball_ Leave us alone bro. We already down horrendous. No need to kick
English

@tknowsball_ I’ll take a ring (which will never happen with the mets) over a “career year” lol
English

@Dsquared75 @WardyNYM @metsarebest2 Will it help? Zero guarantee. Does it hurt? How could it? They’re rock bottom. Tack chance on it helping imo.
English

@WardyNYM @metsarebest2 What will help right now Wardy? Team isnt healthy and is misfiring on almost every front except a couple starters McLean and Holmes, maybe Peralta, as well as Melendez and Soto

Breaking news:
The worst team money could possibly buy is continuing to shoot themselves in the foot
Anthony DiComo@AnthonyDiComo
Exclusive: the Mets are backing Carlos Mendoza despite their 10-21 start. “We don’t view this as a manager problem, and we don’t intend to make a change.” Full news story here: mlb.com/news/carlos-me…
English

@metsarebest2 @WardyNYM Less than the worst team in baseball is what exactly? The point is, they’re already rock bottom. Literally nothing to lose.
English

@AnthonyDiComo Does anyone truly care anymore? Best case scenario is this time continues to blow ass so changes are actually made.
English

@EWRNYC1 @TonyMetroMLB We’re entering the salary cap era. Not gonna be able to just wave a wallet around anymore. Not like that truly worked for this team anyways.
English

@monkgoat2 @TonyMetroMLB They have the money to do whatever they want. It’s not some complicated situation that everybody makes it out to be.
English

Let’s not get older with more bloated contracts at 11 games under .500
Mets Batflip@metsbatflip1
With the Mets struggling mightily, here are a few names who could make sense if they look for outside help, says @JonHeyman: • Christian Walker • Isaac Paredes • Yandy Díaz • Mike Trout • Jorge Soler • Rafael Devers
English

@EWRNYC1 @TonyMetroMLB No, they just don’t have nearly the core the Braves had. It’s not complicated. It’s just a false equivalency to the current Mets “core”
English

@monkgoat2 @TonyMetroMLB They didn’t trade their main guys and have added around them. Is the point I’m trying to make that complicated?
English

@EWRNYC1 @TonyMetroMLB Compare the Braves core and the Mets “core.”
English

@monkgoat2 @TonyMetroMLB Did the Braves trade their core away last year? Where are they this year?
English

@EWRNYC1 @TonyMetroMLB Brother, the season is over. They’re not fixing this in-season. If Soto opts out in a few years that’s too damn bad. Boy genius should have put together better teams.
Digging the hole deeper in a lost year will only fuck us more in future.
English

@monkgoat2 @TonyMetroMLB Even though it’s not likely, Soto has an opt out in a couple years. Mets can’t just afford to punt a season this early.
English

@EWRNYC1 @TonyMetroMLB They aren’t in a position to win. They do this right and they could be in a couple years.
English

@TonyMetroMLB They have Juan Soto right now. They can’t be rebuilding with him here.
English

@RonPearemy @SasakiTruther @PadresChar @SleeperMLB Then change it to “I’m not upset” since that was the false claim anyways.
English

@monkgoat2 @SasakiTruther @PadresChar @SleeperMLB If nobody was upset, then it wouldn’t have been made this big of a deal dude

Speaking to reporters in Baltimore today, Pete Alonso said the Mets’ winter overhaul didn’t catch him off guard, as the Orioles quickly emerged as one of the first teams to pursue him in free agency, ultimately building toward what he called “a match made in heaven.”
The Mets showed little interest and never extended an offer, a detail that became relevant when Brandon Nimmo reached out to Alonso in November as he weighed uncertainty about his future in New York. At the time, Nimmo was in limbo after being told by David Stearns that a potential trade with the Rangers would go through if he waived his no-trade clause, prompting him to seek advice from a longtime friend and former Mets teammate.
During that conversation, Nimmo told Alonso, “I really want to be teammates with you.”
Alonso recalled his response:
“I’m like, ‘Listen, they haven’t talked to me at all,’ ” Alonso said. “I’m like, ‘I want to be teammates with you, too, buddy. But listen, this is just where we’re at. They haven’t reached out [to me] at all. You have to do what’s best for your family.’
“Everything just unraveled from there.”

@SNY_Mets Same message. Same result. How much longer are we gonna do this?
English

@monkgoat2 update? am I still “insufferable” for calling out the ineptitude of this front office ??
English

Mets Twitter is insufferable
has it only been 5 games - YES
does every single game matter from March to September - YES
these are the same fans that told us everything was fine after every single loss brought us closer to the worst collapse in baseball history !!
FIRE STEARNS@asollecito11
you just can’t make it up
English

@AnthonyDiComo They’re not lacking answers. The team isn’t good. The manager isn’t good. The POBO isn’t good.
English

@Mets Won’t make any changes though. Great team, hope you enjoy those ticket sales champ @StevenACohen2
