🚀 We just submitted PayAjo for the APIConf × Monnify Developer Challenge!
PayAjo digitizes traditional Ajo/Esusu savings groups by replacing manual coordination with automated contributions, BVN-verified members, secure wallets and in wallet transfer , Monnify-powered virtual accounts, transparent payouts, group chat, wallet transfers, and AI-powered reminders.

Fun, stressful, and absolutely worth it. There was one moment we genuinely thought we'd have to give up. Right before our demo, our server started misbehaving and nothing was going our way. After a lot of debugging, we got everything back up just in time. 😅

An erroneous transfer of ₦500,000 was made to my account, and I fully cooperated with the refund process. ₦496,757 was successfully reversed from my account (the difference being bank charges), yet 23 days later the sender has still not received the funds. @monnify

@InibeheEffiong I'm currently battling with 2 erroneous transfers, 1 to @OPay_NG and the other one to a @monnify acct being managed by @Sterling_Bankng. I've spent #65k on Court Orders, served the banks involved and nothing is coming out yet.
Recovery process can be very stressful & uncertain

A technician made a mistake while sending his Opay account to me yesterday.
I credited the account without cross checking the name associated with it, partly because the amount wasn’t much.
The technician later informed me that he made a mistake in one of the digits.
We contacted the actual recipient who was very apologetic and understanding.
This young lady, a student of Olabisi Onabanjo University, swiftly refunded the N90k to the technician.
I had to send her N10k for ‘breakfast’ to appreciate her kindness and honesty.
I have seen cases where people retain money sent erroneously to them. That itself is a criminal offence - stealing by conversion.
The previous two occasions when I sent money to the wrong Opay accounts, I didn’t bother contacting the recipients since the amount involved were not significant.
When you consider the process of seeking and obtaining a credit reversal order from the court, you might as well let go if the amount isn’t worth the hassle.
Honesty is a great virtue.
