📘 #MHStories3 Dev Diaries 51 📕 Hey everyone, it's Wakahara from the dev team! The Therabees are creatures we’ve created to enhance your enjoyment of exploring the game's locales. If you bump into a Therabees or hit it with a breath attack, you’ll earn plenty of Trade Points. As they look similar to the Vigorwasp, a familiar face from the series, some of you may have recognized them. Some Therabees require a bit of skill to catch, so do give them a go and show off your traversal skills.

📘 #MHStories3 Dev Diaries 50 📕 Hello everyone, I'm Fujitani, the sound designer. The sound of the Kinship Stone glowing when Kinship Skills are activated was created to reflect each character’s personality. To give you a few examples… For the protagonist, the sound conveys inner conflict and uncertainty beneath an underlying strength; for Eleanor, given that she comes from a different country, I used a different sound from the moment before the Kinship Stone glows to express her single-minded strength. Incidentally, the first sound I completed was for Thea, although I’d originally created it for the protagonist. As it was a clear, bright sound, while listening to it applied to the protagonist in the game, I began to think that it might suit the carefree Thea better than the protagonist, who harbors inner conflict… I remember trying it out on Thea and thinking, ‘This is it!’ as it fit perfectly. There are lots of sounds scattered throughout the game that I’ve poured my heart into, so I’d be delighted if you could sense the stories behind them, even in the most casual of sounds you happen to hear!

📘 #MHStories3 Dev Diaries 47 📕 Hey everyone, it's Wakahara from the dev team! This game features a variety of Endemic Life. The screenshot shows the Scowlbill, an original Endemic Life exclusive to this title. Whilst usually docile, it reveals a different side when an Invasive monster is nearby. This creature was created with that contrast in mind. Incidentally, whilst some Endemic Lifes are easily frightened and will run away immediately, they will stop fleeing when the protagonist dismounts. If you’d like to observe them up close, do try dismounting from your Monstie.

📘 #MHStories3 Dev Diaries 44 📕 Hey everyone, I'm Miyata, the composer. Today I'd like to talk about the song from the Palamute’s Hatching Ceremony. This song is actually sung in Monster Hunter language, but originally, it carries the following meaning: In the long slumber Does the sound of the heart grow loud? Sound that heralds the fullness of time That is, the beating of the heart The time is full The time is full Come forth, roar, come forth It begins with Kol’s solo part, but later the villagers join in. Many of the villagers are actually sung by members of the production and sound staff too! We recorded it whilst adjusting the distance to match the sense of scale of the villagers in the footage. As for the atmosphere of the song, I imagined it as a village song passed down through the generations, so I composed the melody with a sense of antiquity in mind.

I've been looking around and found a folder with a bunch of different monsters! Whoa…these are really cool! Oh, Hugh says we have to go now, so I won't have time to tell you all about them. 🙏 I heard the best way to say goodbye to other hunters is… HAPPY HUNTING! 👊
