Last week I wrapped up my final days as an instructional coach & at Akin Elementary! Although I am sad to leave the students, teachers & families in that community, I'm happy to continue serving LISD as a district Elementary Math Curriculum Specialist! Yay, MATH!

Today I had the privilege of taking a retirement dinner to my coworker, teammate and friend of 20 years. Her passion, dedication, and love have science have made a difference in my life and in many lives of teachers and students. Congratulations @mohsscience on your retirement!

👏 👏 👏 This year is my first year where the only marks on my students papers are feedback related. C=correct PC=partially correct or NY=not yet. No grades anymore and my students ownership of their learning has skyrocketed.

In my 20-plus years of teaching, I have come to the realization that grades result in compliance. Feedback results in change. Teacher evaluation, much the same. Grades and levels are a period. Feedback is a comma.
