🎄 Advent Calendar – Dec 9🎄 FACED 2.0 is finally out in @naturemethods! 🧠🔬 FACED 2.0 is a high‑resolution, kilohertz-frame-rate 2‑photon system that can now really do it all in vivo in awake mouse cortex: 🎄Population (>200 neurons) voltage imaging ~1,600 fps in 2D 🎁Calcium imaging with Millimeter-scale FOVs in 3D in mouse and larval zebrafish 🎉Concurrently measured blood flow speed across 966 capillary segments 🎅🏻 ~0.26 GB/s continuous streaming, so the data pipeline finally keeps up with the optics (a major bottleneck in fast multiphoton imaging) Very excited to see how #FACED imaging has gone from skepticism (even I myself) to delivering on some really nice promises over the years.
