@moon18___18 I agree! and I definitely wish that more queer people get opportunities to portray queer stories but I also believe that they don't have to come out to do that. This topic is incredibly nuanced and we can not reduce it to harmful and not harmful :)

Thailand has been doing BL since the early 2010s and they have build their branding on queer shows, mind you even before same sex marriage was legalized in Thailand. They were one of the reasons why queerness is getting more accepted today. Thai BL didn't just walk, they crawled

Had an argument once with someone who said Thai BL doesn’t represent LGBTQ+ struggles, but I think it does something just as important: it normalizes love. Like Phuwin said, they show you that homosexual couple are people too, and they also have stories beyond struggle.

@eeeetang @aniescandy Of course, one of them is Sea Tawinan, who on his solo tour brought gay, trans, and queer people to his tour, when most don't even give them visibility; he does give them that.

@moon18___18 @aniescandy I think there are many ways of supporting. I don't know if you know all the actors but I don't. It's a reach to say they don't support or anything in your claim.

@eeeetang @aniescandy You just proved my point. They know it's a fantasy, girl. You know there are people who have died for being gay, lesbian, bi, trans, who are discriminated against, that no actor includes LGBTQ people on their tours. There are very few, one of those few is Sea Tawinan.

@moon18___18 @aniescandy Tours & fancons : some of them are for series while others are for celebrating the pair basically their partnership. Most people know it's a fantasy and should choose to engage with as such.

@romerseni It's harmful to defend homosexuality as a fetish. You only got angry when I said they're all straight women. I'm a lesbian, and I've seen how on social media they fetishize and stereotype gay men thanks to BL and GL, dictating how a gay man or a lesbian should look.

@eeeetang @aniescandy While you defend them with the argument that they're actors, it's their job, when they go too far and create a ship with tours and concerts, selling a fantasy of a relationship, when most people never say anything, and the people who do criticize them for being gay.

@moon18___18 @romerseni Harsh, and no that not a fact. Some may sadly behaved that way but most don’t. Most bl fans and me included would be over the moon if the actors r rly gay. But at the end of the day it’s the actors/actress right to be watever they want and we respect that.
