Every time there’s new transphobic legislation, there’s a lot of catastrophising in response. At least some of the time, things don’t get as extraordinarily bad as people said they would. Seeing this happen over and over makes me feel unsure what to make of each new thing

The years have been kind to Ben Lerner i think, his repetitive gesture, a 2000sy American ivy league derridean faith that normie tone & prose will bloom itself no matter what, was so obnoxious but now in his middle age it is so wistful and not very important, it bothers me less.
