Back in 2024, Soberano Jr signed a 3 extension with CMLL. Rumor around is him no-showing last night's CMLL show means he's heading to AAA. In Mexico, you have the right to quit the company you're employed anytime with no legal punishment such as WWE's 90 day non-compete clause or AEW's famous injury time added time, meaning that him not showing up at last night on CMLL could mean he's gone from the company. What's next? I think he's jumping ship to AAA. Not stating this as a fact, but it's my personal mindset, but this would be a big risk. As most people know, if you jump ship from CMLL to AAA, it usually means burning a bridge with CMLL as they are famous for "blacklisting" the talent that does this, it's a big risk in my opinion. Soberano Jr has become one of the most popular luchador in the country, not just the company, the entire country. You got people buying his masks weekly, uploading stuff on Instagram about his persona and more. I had hopes he would be the guy that would eventually be Mistico's final opponent and also the guy that would beat him for Mistico's championship (even though titles mean so little in CMLL). I've personally felt that the companies interest in him has dropped over the last couple weeks after being in a red hot streak. He just made me be interested in watching tonight's #ReyDeReyes.
