The mortality % is largely irrelevant if there's no real outbreak. If we throw out random numbers and cap its spread to say 100 people total (even that seems high at this point), even a 50% mortality rate is not that scary from that POV. If there's no real outbreak then of course there's nothing to really worry about for everyone but the very unlucky few. But you can't use the mortality % to downplay the need to worry when it relies on the thing not spreading in the first place. If it does break through somehow, the ~1-15% is plenty to worry about, is my point. The focus when downplaying the overall risk should be on things that'll prevent it from becoming a pandemic (of which there's plenty), not how the mortality rate isn't scary (because it is). Hopefully that helps.

However, even if 1000 people in the US contract it, which seems highly unlikely at this point, that’s 50 total deaths. Is 50 total deaths out of 340 million people enough to cause mass panic?

I think you've confused yourself to what you're even arguing about. Using Steph as an example of someone who might hit 90% from 3 in practice helps prove me right. There's maybe 1 or 2 guys who can hit 90% in practice from 3. Maybe. And it probably would not hold up over 1000 shots straight. The guy I replied to claimed "the worst nba players" can hit 90% from 3 in practice. Not Steph, the worst shooters in the league! I was never arguing that it's easier to hit uncontested presureless shots in practice than shots in a real game, no shit it is. Free throw stats are the closest definitive thing we have to compare to (aka uncontested but closer vs more pressure), it's the only reason I brought them up. But claiming that the worst NBA players would consistently hit 90% from 3 in practice is wildly wrong. If you disagree with that after looking at the free throw stats and using some common sense then I can't help you.

@RedIsNotAFlavor @yoxics There are only 5 players in the current season with a FREE THROW % above 90%. It's unlikely that there is single player in the NBA that can consistently shoot 90%+ from three.

@yoxics the worst NBA players, in a gym, alone with no defender, will make 90% of their threes not 75%. I'm serious. The worst NBA player is on another level of basketball. 53% by yourself is not cutting it at all.

At the end of the day, I look at the number and it tells me whether I'm productive. ⤷ consistent 8+ hours sleep ⤷ no phone first thing waking up ⤷ gratitude journaling ⤷ meditation ⤷ hydration and supplement maxxing ⤷ consistent high quality whole food diet ⤷ tracking my calories ⤷ 1 - 2 hours of zone 2 cardio ⤷ consistent high intensity weight lifting If your days feel inconsistent and you can't figure out why, start measuring them. I’m currently on a cut after a 2-3 year bulk. I started to get inconsistent after a while. I’m locking back in to become the best version of myself. You can't fix what you're not tracking well enough.

The only thing I do on Abstract is have fun! I have given the team the benefit of the doubt. Slashing NFTs in this current market is the most tone deaf, ass backwards shit I have ever seen. It only hurts the most loyal holders. I don’t gamble. I do play games and use the chain daily. I’m not stressing per se. That’s why I don’t post my XP each week as an update cuz that’s not why I use it. I’m advocating for myself a bit, but also all the others severely mislead to hold.
