Hard work comes in two equally important forms: effort to perform & effort to improve. If we get stuck in chronic efforts to perform ("the performance zone"), it leads to tunnel vision & stagnation. If we also prioritise efforts to improve ("the learning zone"), we get better outcomes & work that is more interesting & enjoyable.
