Any harassing or abusive language towards #StudentAthletes can result in suspension from sports betting platforms, now including @BetMGM. The Big Ten Student Athlete Issues Commission (SAIC), a commission of college athletes who represent their schools, sent a letter to #NCAA President Charlie Baker: “Prop bets are a direct avenue to the overwhelming number of death threats that student-athletes receive if they ‘ruin a parlay’ or cause a fan to lose their bet.” While Ohio has already outlawed #PropBetting, the letter highlights the growing threat of betting-related harassment.
