AI gives anyone who 1) uses the frontier models 2) has some understanding of the models, a level up. The reason why it shows up as the below is because so far mostly the already-skilled are doing 1) and 2). Understanding *who* uses AI is critical.

The ramp-up in medication as PhDs approach the job market may suggest it's more about uncertainty about future employment than the stress of the PhD itself. After getting over impostor syndrome, I really enjoyed my PhD, but like everyone, was very stressed about finding a job.
