To everyone saying the last part is irrelevant - in my circumstance and situation it's very true. So therefore not irrelevant. But it's up to you, either focus on what's really important here or focus on the last sentence and ignore the actual point of this post.

The people who support you live in a cost of living crisis, so why not support them with your music and use your platform for a worthy cause? @cocamidemea everything is sad for female artists, especially in rock &has been for years, sexualisation, misogyny, assault, the fact until maybe 3yrs ago women on festival lineups was almost a myth. we then see a female+non binary band be pushed+we choose to blame THEM for a different issue

@morisassy No. But they participate in in. And I think thats where the anger comes from. That they were telling people something different - how they were authentic and then the reality comes out. Its just sad if anything. Sad for them, sad for us, sad for all female artists.

@cocamidemea the government abandoned the creative industry in lockdown, told artists to get ‘better’ jobs, almost let grassroots venues go extinct. spotify exploits artists and pays nothing. mental health issues in creatives is real, but its not the fault of a few 20yr olds in floaty dresses

@morisassy Yes. But they do what they do because of money time and connections. I literary have to talk young musicians out of suicide cause they cant compete. They have no options, no support. But they are told they dont have talent. In this industry everyone has talent, few have options.

@cocamidemea to question talented is also unfair, 3 of them have amazing voices,one plays three instruments incredibly, including the mandolin, on the side from the main instruments they play,a front woman with insane stage presence. theres a wider issue for sure but lets not discredit skill

@morisassy Of course not. Its not what im ssying. But for example you will find many articles about Inhaler or TLDP that they are working class or they got where they are now cause of talent. its hugely unfair and doesnt help anyone.

@cocamidemea lack of self awareness maybe, but it’s not exactly their fault they were born into money, i’d also like to think the industry and labels are more to blame for the fact theres a clear imbalance. it once again shouldn’t take women being successful to start these convos, its not new

@morisassy 100% agree with you! We don’t even listen to the radio much in our car we usually just listen to Spotify

i’m not surprised radio is dying when they play the same songs three times a day followed by p!nk and little mix tunes from 10 years ago or more. it’s literally not hard to look for new music instead of tiring out old ones and the same 3 new releases
