The Reaper's Coming... John Hornback, 6'0, 180, QB/ATH, St James Academy, '27, one of the most dangerous dual-threat QB's and the returning state leader in total offense, running and passing for 2,826 yards + 30 TD's a year ago; a multi-sport warrior, he led his team to a school-record 10-2 season and has next-level measurables (38" vertical/10'3" broad); recently seen fine-tuning the air attack with standout receivers @cory_kirchner8 and @most_cooper; button up, it's gonna get serious this fall...@JohnHornback99

The St. James Academy Thunder enter the 2025 season with high expectations under head coach Tom Radke, who is in his 14th year at the school and 19th overall as a head coach. After a strong 2024 campaign that ended with a semifinal loss to rival St. Thomas Aquinas, the Thunder aim to return to their championship form, having won back-to-back state titles in 2020 and 2021. Last season, St. James bounced back from a slow start, winning just one of their first five games, by closing the regular season with victories in five of their last six contests and then making an impressive playoff run. The Thunder lost 32 seniors from 2024 including a senior led defense led by Aidan Dreiling (Washburn commit). Offensively senior Frankie Menghini will step into a full time QB role. With over 150 players in the program and a mix of veteran leaders and promising newcomers, Coach Radke believes the Thunder have the depth and talent to contend for both an EKL crown and another deep 5A playoff run. #sportsinkansas
