i have a completely opposite view to this
we have a lot of projects with established legal entities behind that dont share revenue and instead enrich themselves after selling tokens as ''governance rights'
finally now some teams understand what their goal should be and they are actually giving the revenue back to the investors which actually ties their dapp success with their tokens and the investors
seems to me we are moving away from the scams of the old not towards them
same personal accountability and research should apply to any investor still, but the idea that registered companies somehow dont rug you or offer you some kind of protection is just not true.
ive been rugged by doxxed ppl and ive been rugged by teams with established registered legal entities, and ive been rugged from a heavier midnight allocation because i wanted to participate in the cardano ecosystem and help it. apparently sitting on your staked ada like a dragon is more important for the cardano ecosystem 🤷
personally, im at a point, that if the dapp does not share the revenue with the token holders i dont even bother with it, cause either way, it tells me what the team is oriented towards achieving, personal vs communal enrichment
if i vote for your dapp to receive funds to be built, and if i buy your tokens for your dapp to be built then sure as shit im expecting that all revenue flows proportionally to those that funded your damn app. your reward as the builder who got funded, is a token allocation that also receives revenue and not hoarding $ from the sale + revenue + token allocation all for yourself
that we've allowed for someone to receive funding to build something, and then retain all the revenue is a travesty and all other considerations when investing equal, then this is the most important determining factor to me

does your dapp create revenue, and if so do you share it proportionally with your investors?

I need to warn the community because I love Cardano. In the years, we have seen the worst scams coming from projects with undoxxed teams and missing company setup. Most of the time they put a frontman but behind the scene they are always the same grifters. Additionally, you need a proper legal setup for your company and a legal entity DAO for any project token created. Without these elements, we have the perfect receipt to be scammed more and extract more money from the ecosystem. Be careful.
