and ofc: read. read everything. lit fic, scientific papers, novels, novellas, short stories, newspaper articles, blog posts, etc etc. it is the only way to improve. the best writers are forever and always readers first

also your shitty first draft is just that. don't waste time trying to perfect one paragraph for hours. just finish it, take a break, and come back to it with fresher eyes

in college my writing professor told me to start proofreading for spelling/grammar issues by reading my work aloud and backwards (last paragraph -> first) really does help esp on things I've been working on for a while

when you hear someone treat "hate" as the cause of fascism, you know you are either 1. In the presence of a liberal; 2. In presence of someone trying to appeal to liberals. In the case of the latter (lets say the person didn't always talk this way), you have to take srsly the fact that whatever they are doing, it appeals to liberals--it is for them

I think it’s cool to see a trans woman’s nude body treated as beautiful in the same way as any other woman’s, and also I think if you’re an adult, you should be able to handle tasteful nudity in art maturely.
