College camps are the most underestimated form of getting recruited. The scenario is perfect. Choose a school you are interested in, tour the campus, check out the area, and know that a coach from the college will see you play.

If you jump to the exposure phase too quickly you will find yourself traveling to showcases and national tournaments without getting contacted by any college coaches. If you jump to the skill-development phase before completing the physical development phase you will have the most issues

Jumping phases early leads to frustration; colleges prioritize velocity and immediate-impact players over those needing extensive development.

Colleges need players who can help them win now. Freshmen have roughly 90 training days to prove they can be trusted in the spring. There’s no time to develop velocity, add pitches, refine mechanics, and learn the college game.
