When I was young, my great aunt had a railway line at the end of her garden similar to this one. I was always very envious 🙂

The subject of a few perplexed stares, a Derby Lightweight power trailer set awaits departure from Boston on a Grantham service in 1955. The first of the sets arrived in Lincolnshire in January 1955 & nine sets had already settled into regular service by Easter of that year.
