RIP FRANÇOISE HARDY Sad to learn of the passing of Françoise Hardy the French singer-songwriter and actress. David and Françoise seemed to enjoy a mutual appreciation. David said this of her in 1997: “I was for a very long time, passionately in love with her. As I’m sure she’s guessed every male in the world and a number of females also were. And we all still are!” And here’s Françoise talking about her favourite Bowie album and recalling telling him about it when they met in 2003. + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + - + “I’ve always been fascinated by David Bowie, but I’m not what you call a fan because fans have all the records and know everything. I’m not like that. His album Outside impressed me most.” “I was on a show with him, and I told him that Outside was my favourite album by him, and he was stunned. He couldn’t believe it. I think he was quite happy to hear that.” “There are other good tunes on this album, but I prefer ‘I’m Deranged’. When you don’t speak English well like me, it doesn’t matter so much not to understand the lyrics.
