Yesterday, our patrol team conducted DUI enforcement as part of a grant-funded operation focused on keeping our roads safe.

The goal of DUI enforcement is simple: prevent impaired driving, reduce crashes, and protect everyone who shares the road. Driving under the influence puts lives at risk, not just the driver, but passengers, pedestrians, and other motorists.

If you plan to drink or use substances that impair your ability to drive, make a plan for a safe ride home. Use a rideshare, designate a sober driver, or take public transportation.

It was a great night between Grant funded enforcement and patrol. The team made six DUI arrests.

Together, we can help keep our community safe.

Strong police work in the early morning hours led to the arrest of an intoxicated driver and the removal of a loaded, unregistered handgun from our streets. On Saturday, February 21, 2026, at approximately 2:07 a.m., officers observed a white truck fail to stop at the four-way intersection of Villa Street and View Street. During the traffic stop, officers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol and in possession of a loaded, unregistered handgun inside the vehicle. The suspect, Siagai Talimalie, a 29-year-old Stockton resident, was booked into the Santa Clara County Main Jail on charges of DUI and multiple felony firearm violations, including carrying a concealed and loaded firearm in a vehicle. Driving under the influence puts everyone at risk. Thanks to proactive patrol efforts, a dangerous situation was stopped before anyone was hurt. If you see suspected impaired driving, call 9-1-1.
