He’s obviously right in that banning AR-15s and other assault/semi-automatic rifles won’t affect gun deaths that much, but Platner’s completely wrong on the idea that red flag laws *will* change gun death numbers. What has to happen is a repeal of the 2nd amendment and a ban on individual gun ownership.

Roughly 90% of income used to be subject to the Social Security tax but now it's closer to 80% due to the increase in income inequality.

But now people are routinely living into their 80s which has blown a hole through the full benefits math.
