To keep housing prices from rising relative to inflation, OP estimates that DC needs capacity to support at least 460,000 households by 2050. Through DC 2050, we're planning to add capacity for an additional 15,000 households. Read more: dcgis.maps.arcgis.com/sharing/rest/c…

High prices hurt working families by reducing their purchasing power and eat away their savings. Government doesn't have that problem. As prices rise over time, government revenues increase right along with them. But somehow, it’s still not enough. They keep pushing for a bigger slice of the pie by proposing even more tax hikes. That’s not right. San Diegans need relief. That’s why I haven’t, and never will — vote to raise your taxes.

NYC’s budget gap is $5.4 billion. Mamdani’s plan was to tax those earning over $1 million. Albany blocked it. His fallback: a 9.5% property tax hike — the first in nearly two decades — hitting over 3 million households and 100,000 commercial properties. High earners can establish residency in Florida or Texas and erase the tax liability entirely. Property owners can’t pick up the building and leave. That’s why the bill lands on the middle class. And why people who were already considering leaving now have one more reason to go.

San José mayor and California gubernatorial candidate @MattMahanSJ on the challenges of running a large state like California

I know that government can make people’s lives better because I’ve experienced it firsthand. That’s what we need to focus on, and that’s why I’m running to be your next governor.

The Wall Street Journal’s Bill McGurn on CALIFORNIA’S NEVER-ENDING RACE PREFERENCES. For goodness sake, please vote NO on ACA7. This has gotten ridiculous. @senatorsrp @SenBobArchuleta @SenStevePadilla wsj.com/opinion/califo…

Can Progressives govern? It really is becoming increasingly clear that no, they cannot. They are beholden to public sector unions (SEIU, AFT, NEA, etc), and see budgets primarily as redistribution and retribution mechanisms, not as the necessary source of funds for effective state services. What if the "Affordability Crisis" is just... modern American Progressivism? stevemurch.com/say-it-with-me…
