I rarely open up about my personal life here but for most of my twenties I outsourced my health to the algorithm. One week I was keto, the next I was carnivore and then it was some biohacker’s morning routine. On paper I was a successful founder in my early thirties but in reality I was some 10 kilos overweight, sleeping badly, running on caffeine and telling myself it was just a busy season for about five years straight. Something had to change. The turning point was when I stopped treating my body like a content feed and started treating it like a system, when I did the boring stuff first. I got a full blood panel with hormones, lipids, glucose, cortisol curve, genetic testing...the whole thing, once a year. This was exactly when the story changed from “I should work out more” to “my cortisol clearance is poor, I have ADHD and late-night intensity wrecks my sleep architecture for two days.” Suddenly it was obvious why 9pm HIIT made me feel heroic and then useless. So, I moved heavy training to mornings, turned evenings into walks and stretching and watched my sleep scores and mood move in the right direction instead of guessing. Food followed the same logic. I cared ruthlessly about just markers, energy and performance. For me that meant lower carb and occasionally flirting with carnivore because my labs and my brain felt better. The meta rule became simple: if the plan does not match your biology and your calendar, it will not survive your next fundraising round or long haul flight. Then to be very candid, the last piece was humility plus resources. I finally listened to a friend who runs a recovery clinic and signed up for a three-month transformation gym. I paid a painful amount, lost 10+ kilos, gained muscle and more importantly, learnt how to eat, train and recover like an adult. The invoice made quitting more expensive than showing up and it made a dent for the better. If you want a “hack” here it is. Stop copying strangers’ protocols. Please: i) Order the tests. ii) Look at the numbers. iii) Design a plan your life can actually carry. Then let time (not Instagram) decide if it works.

If you’re sitting on the sidelines right now, I feel genuine sorrow for the version of you in ten years that has to look back at this decision. I have zero financial incentive to write this. I simply hope a few people see this and it helps contribute to their decision to deploy meaningful long-term capital into this market. The window is open. It won't be for long.
