Ja-stans are in hell right now. Can’t let go of past that never was has them wishing for a bumbling GM…? It’s not a GM vs Ja thing. It’s the unrealized expectations to blame - and blame falls on both sides. ZK isn’t perfect, he has made plenty of mistakes/misses. Replacing a GM isn’t as easy as you think though. Ja has checked out but keeps saying the “right thing” and reeling folks back in. What on the court makes you think he wants to stay? Dude. Doesn’t. Play. If he did, our fanbase wouldn’t be in the mental blender it is 😂 A culture reset is needed and given ZK’s draft history combined with this draft - we will come out better with him drafting.

@JohnMartin929 You can dive into the negativity of a bad season, or you can address the issues and build up one of our own. Choosing to revel in the struggle is a choice. Penny isn't the worst coach this program has seen—Memphis just has a lot of fair-weather fans. Period.

I would just say, lastly: If you’re more interested in excusing away embarrassments like last night (and the entire season) instead of being accountable and working towards solutions, you deserve the program that you get.

Based on reactions like this one and a lot of others I’ve seen over the course of the season, Memphis fans have totally tapped out. It’s sad to see.

Grizzlies GM Zach Kleiman contacted Ja Morant post-deadline to inform him the team was unable to reach a trade deal, per sources. 🔗My story here - scoopb.com/2026/02/the-de… I’m told Miami Heat were “more interested than believed” in Morant. League sources share: “Miami was locked in, Milwaukee was locked in and so were the Sacramento Kings and the Timberwolves.” Despite the interest, Grizzlies held firm. What I was told GG was part of potential Ja Morant trade to sweeten the return for the Grizzlies. I couldn’t do nothing, but shake my head. If Ja was traded, GG was gone too.

@staciemontero It's important to enjoy the moments, it feels better when you can trust not just the players but the those guiding the ship, who values the team over his own accolades. Protect your young stars. I don't think they understand how to do that.
