@JustinAion In addition to the excessive hours teachers work, I think people also underestimate the energy it takes to perform in a 6-hour live show 185 days a year. We are ON all the time. In an office job you can just quietly do your work without a performance.

Allow your Indigenous students to honor this cultural tradition. Learn about it. Attend their feather pinning ceremony. Better yet, host it in your school. If you want to help all students succeed, learn where they come from and what is important in their culture.

#games4ed The power of #gamification is the agency it gives the player. Some summative assessment should exist that allows the student to show us what THEY think was important. Gamification of any student portfolio seems like a really good idea.

A3: A colleague of mine did a traditional essay approach, BUT it was meaningful, with questions about what was most memorable about class, which classmate did they learn most from, and what did they improve this yr (and didn't have to be school related) #games4ed
