Garrigan Park in Kingston’s Portsmouth Village was a busy limestone quarry worked by inmates from Kingston Pen in the 1800’s. Later it was home to the Circle Fastball League & the CAL’s Harold Harvey Arena. Here’s the history of the park. @KtownCAL ktownsports.blog

Hockey in Kingston celebrates 140 yrs today. March 10, 1886 @QueensMHockey & @RMCPaladins hockey’s oldest rivals battled for the first time, chasing a square puck on Kingston harbour. Queen’s prevailed 1-0 on a goal by Lennox Irving.

Sad to hear of the passing of Canadian football icon Bob Howes. I always enjoyed covering @queensgaels football while Howes was on the coaching staff. Howes won 5 Grey Cups in Edmonton during the 70s dynasty & was named to the All Decade Eskimos team.
