Welcome back! Everyone truly has been ‘STARS’ this week. It’s been wonderful getting to know you all 🌟

Such a fabulous day at our Melbourne Music Festival! The sun shone brightly on our little stars 🌟 We all enjoyed our ice cream treat too. If you would like to see your child’s performance please just ask in the morning and I’ll happily share 🌟🌟

Thank you to everyone who came to our History and Art ‘Learn to Learn’ session this afternoon.

Today was incredibly hot in our classroom so we took our learning outside! We became journalists gathering information,in the shade, from witness statements and photographs. Our next writing focus is a newspaper report✏️📖💫

Great paired work today sharing character description ideas in preparation for our independent write. Fabulous collaboration to enhance our ideas. #teamwork

It was rather exciting opening our mysterious suitcase today! Lots of curious items inside which have sparked our imaginations to inform our creative writing! ✏️📖⭐️

We have enjoyed reflecting back on fabulous school trip! Yesterday we learnt that Pharaoh’s names were written in hieroglyphics within an oval. Today we have replicated this with our own names writing on traditional Egyptian paper - papyrus⭐️

We are all having an amazing time @Hull_Museums igniting our interest in Egyptology. So far we have seen lots of replica artefacts from Tutankhamen’s tomb and we acted out the process of mummification! ⭐️⭐️ Thank you Queen Agnes and Anubis Ronnie!

Artists at work! Fabulous creations of Sumerian Gods using sculpturing techniques learnt during this Art unit. Impressive concentration and attention to detail by all! Once complete we evaluated our own pieces and gave feedback to others whilst admiring them in a mini Art Gallery

Today we found a mysterious suitcase in the school grounds! Who does it belong to? How did it get there? Where did it come from? Most importantly… what is inside? Over the next few weeks we will be using this to inspire our story writing to create our own finding tale.

Over the past week we have enjoyed reading many poems by various authors. We particularly enjoyed ‘Mementos’ by Charlotte Brontë. Lots of inspiring ideas and vocabulary hanging on our washing line ready to use in our next writing unit. #openingdoors @BobCox_SFE @Wonder_WLP

A member of our class was so enthused by yesterdays Science lesson he created his own circuit at home. It included some complex components! Thank you for bringing it in to show us. We always love to hear and see the learning continuing at home 🤩⚡️🔌🔋💡

Yesterday we had a fabulous afternoon in Science investigating how to make an electrical circuit. The whole class used their problem solving techniques to successfully light the bulb or buzzer! Superb Scientists! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lots of Easter fun too!

Everyone has really enjoyed the persuasive writing unit in English and produced some incredible pieces of work. To celebrate this achievement we have used these pieces and created our own leaflets to visit the Isle of Tum! Well done Dragonfly 🤩

Fabulous day finishing off our DT project printing our William Morris inspired designs.

Some fantastic music work today. The children created Haiku poems about Japanese cherry blossom before composing melodies to sing them to. We practiced them outside in the sunshine 🌸🌞

This afternoon in Geography, we have learnt about the mountain ranges in the UK. In small groups we were tasked to research their location, height and other interesting facts.
