National elections start to feel like choosing the flavor of frosting on a cake someone else already baked. With someone else’s recipe. And someone else’s rules about how many eggs you’re allowed to use. Call it what you want - shared governance, interdependence, modern integration. But don’t pretend it’s democratic.
