Every morning after a massive Russian attack, I dread sitting down to put a post like the one below together. Russia brings so much pain and suffering to Ukrainians. Russian combined attack on Ukraine killed 13 people and injured over 100 more. The most severe damage to civilian infrastructure occurred in Kyiv, Dnipro, and Kharkiv. ▪️ In Kyiv, 4 people were killed and over 60 more were injured. A three-year-old child was wounded by shrapnel. Five medical facilities were damaged in Kyiv. The ZEEKR car dealership burned down completely. Other damaged sites include residential buildings, a utility company, an academy, outbuildings, a gas station, and a Ministry of Internal Affairs service center - all civilian infrastructure. ▪️ In Dnipro, 9 people were killed, a child among them. Multiple apartment buildings were destroyed. Deputy chief of the fire and rescue unit, Major Anton Yarmolenko, was killed by the Russian attack. He was heading to an emergency call when the Russian strike occurred. Deepest condolences. 35 more residents of Dnipro were injured, and 6 more people are missing. ▪️ In Kharkiv, residential buildings and a food production facility were damaged, with more than 10 people injured. Destruction of civilian infrastructure was recorded in Mykolaiv, Kharkiv, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Zaporizhzhia regions. Moldova may become part of Romania This could happen if its accession to the European Union is delayed or blocked after 2028. As the deputy prime minister Eugen Osmocescu stressed, the country’s goal is to sign the EU accession agreement by the end of 2028. More than 500 personnel of the State Emergency Service have been involved in dealing with the aftermath of Russia’s overnight attack on our cities and communities. The main strike was on Kyiv, where dozens of residential buildings and other purely civilian infrastructure were damaged again. Tragically, four people have been reported killed. My condolences to all their families and loved ones. At this moment, 38 people are in hospitals in the capital, and all of them are receiving the necessary care. In Dnipro, a search and rescue operation is ongoing at the site of a four-story apartment building. Part of the building was essentially demolished. Nine people were killed in this attack, including a child. Thirty-five people were injured in the city. The fate of six more people remains unknown. The search for them will continue for as long as necessary. The Russians also struck energy facilities in the Kharkiv region and critical infrastructure in Kharkiv. Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Zaporizhzhia, Poltava, Sumy, Chernihiv, and Khmelnytskyi regions also came under attack. In total, overnight Russia launched 656 attack drones and 73 missiles of various types at our people – ballistic, cruise, and anti-ship missiles. A large-scale attack and an absolutely clear statement from Russia: if Ukraine is not protected from ballistic and other missile strikes, these attacks will continue. Europe needs its own anti-ballistic defense so that this war can finally be brought to an end. And assistance from the United States in supplying missiles for Patriot systems is absolutely necessary. We are counting on the support of our partners and on effective responses to today’s attack. And I thank all Ukrainian men and women for not ignoring air raid alerts. Glory to Ukraine!

🇭🇺 Magyar is changing the constitution to remove Hungary’s president Hungarian Prime Minister Péter Magyar has announced constitutional amendments that would allow President Tamás Sulyok — a close ally of Viktor Orbán — to be removed from office. The move comes after Sulyok refused to resign following the change of government. “Tamás Sulyok has betrayed the Hungarian Republic. The institution of the presidency is more important than any individual officeholder,” Magyar said. According to him, the amendments could be adopted within about a month.

Ahahahaha Há poucos meses, depois de elogios ao que escrevia, o diretor do DN, Filipe Alves, convidou-me para ser colunista do jornal. Aceitei. Ao fim de menos de 5 artigos de opinião com bastante alcance segundo o próprio jornal, disse-me que iam passar por uma reestruturação, blablabla e que a minha coluna ia terminar. Que não tinha nada a ver com o conteúdo ou a qualidade naturalmente. Respirei fundo, respondi cordialmente e pensei um grande "yeah right" para mim mesmo. Desconfiando sempre do que se tratava. Isto, nalguns lugares (não todos, atenção), está bom é para os cínicos constantes, ignorantes, ou para os que polarizam de tal forma no outro extremo que tornam estas idiotices dos Marcos Galinhas aceitáveis. A 'liberdade' e a suposta 'pluralidade' por estas paragens são quase sempre vendidas em doses exageradas de mediocridade no campo onde isso mais lhes convém. É seguir caminho sempre e desejar boa sorte aos Filipe Alves que cedem.

The only reason for Russia’s overnight horrific attack against Ukraine with 656 drones and 73 missiles that killed at least 12, including children, and injured hundreds of civilians is that Putin is a war criminal and loser who has no cards except terror. Moscow is losing on the battlefield. No number of missiles can change this. What we can change is Russia’s ability to continue terror. I urge partners to act, not only condemn. There are concrete steps that can be taken. First. Use the unblocked European Peace Fund to fund the PURL program and buy additional “Patriot” systems and missiles for Ukraine. Advance the anti-ballistic coalition. Increase investment in Ukraine’s long-range capabilities. Second. Ramp up pressure on Russia through new sanctions, travel bans for combatants, the full use of frozen assets, and isolation. Third. Take long overdue strategic steps such as opening EU negotiation clusters for Ukraine. Terrorists in Moscow must realise that their brutal attacks won’t bring them anywhere. That the price for their regime will only increase. That the only way out for Putin is to immediately end this war. Peace efforts will only succeed when they are backed with real pressure on Moscow.
