If you’re building a midfield that actually functions, you need that. People keep throwing him into the “CM” conversation, but let’s be clear Stiller is more DM than CM. A hybrid, yes. But his brain is defensive. Positionally, he’s levels above most options being discussed. He knows where to stand. He knows when to drop. He knows how to kill transitions before they even start. That’s not common. Now imagine this… You bring in Tonali energy, aggression, vertical play. Then you pair him with Stiller - calm, structure, control. That balance makes sense. Because right now? United’s midfield is either chaos or nothing. Stiller gives you control. Not vibes. Not moments. Control. And if United are serious about building a midfield that can actually dominate games… They should be looking at him a lot more closely.
