Chase is hiking the Sapphire Reserve annual fee to $795 (up from $550, originally $450). You still get the $300 travel credit, so real cost is $495.
They claim you’ll get $2700 of value from the perks, but it’s more annoying than ever:
• lots more differing points values to keep track of
• You have to book travel (hotel/air) through their janky portal to maximize points
If you’re willing to do that, it’s worth it.
But for most people:
Just get Robinhood Gold for 3% cash back and stop thinking about points.
Or wait for the Coinbase card when it launches.

Wowwwwww this is probably the final limitation removal that will fully unlock ATOMIC COMPOSABILITY.
I’ve been here since the beginning and the first unlock was in 2022 when the compute budget request feature was released. This allowed us to do very computationally-intensive transactions.
But then we were blocked by the tx limit until Account Lookup Tables came along in 2023 that allowed us to get around it by putting as many accounts as we could in there to reduce the tx size.
Now we are finally here.

scale was pretty much perfect. ship was almost perfect too. would be dope if we could have:
- a hack station so devs forced to tag along could get work done
- wifi that works
- fidi shuttle bus
- name tags to self-identify as either "pitch me stuff" or "sorry, just vibing"

@sssionggg Also most solana devs don’t actually need to deploy a contract.

it doesn’t cost $200 to deploy. you just have to pay $200 rent to deploy the contract. if you find the program no longer needed on chain, you can close it and get back the $200. rent is a one time fee to occupy space on solana and anytime you don’t need the space, you can give it back and take back your rent.

can anyone help me understand why it costs ~$200 to deploy a relatively simple contract on solana? I assumed it would cost comparable amounts to @base (eg cents) and feel like my mental model needs updating
